Travis Scott is in debt to the state of California for more than $100,000.

Documents obtained by The Blast revealed that the Franchise Tax Board issued a lien against the 32-year-old "Sicko Mode" artist for 2021 taxes.

Court documents have notified Scott of the hefty amount he owes of $106,968.18, and that additional interest will be added until the lien is completely paid off.

However, despite the financial burden, the Texas rapper remains one of the wealthiest musicians in hip-hop, with a reported net worth of $80 million, according to an outlet. Recently, he spoke about being 'devastated' by the Astroworld tragedy, which took ten lives.

Recently, the musician found himself embroiled in yet another legal dispute stemming from the harrowing Astroworld Festival tragedy of 2021.

Ten people tragically lost their lives, and many more were injured during a crowd surge at his November 5th show held in Houston.

Following this traumatic event, Scott recently received a hefty tax lien - only weeks after being hit with another Astroworld lawsuit.

Ceremony of Roses (CoR) recently filed a claim against Travis Scott and Live Nation, accusing them of "negligence and willful misconduct."

According to the outlet, CoR claims they have suffered tremendous financial losses due to their investment in the festival.

Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott expressed his "devastation" about the failed Astroworld event earlier this month.

After maintaining his silence for over two years, the rapper told GQ about the tragedy. He admitted to regularly thinking about it and struggling with difficult emotions as he worked on Utopia, his much-anticipated comeback album.

The individuals who lost their lives in this event were between 9 and 27 - they were deprived of oxygen due to compression, a dire consequence that has been likened to being crushed by a car.

He said: "Making music, you think about things that go on in life and happen in your life, and you dial in on something. That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating. And when it came to making, like even finishing the album...I got back into it probably, like, I don't know, months and months and months after."

Kylie Jenner's ex-boyfriend hopes of elevating Houston to the same level as New York and Los Angeles so that he could be a hometown hero instead of a villain had been shattered. To open up about this tragedy on November 5, Scott interviewed podcaster Charlemagne Tha God late in 2021.

In the talk, Travis held his "in-ear" worker accountable for not playing a part in telling him to terminate the show sooner and maintained that he was oblivious of and uninvolved with the lethal stampede and throng crush.
