Hailee Steinfeld was born on December 11, 1996 in Tarzana, California, but, was raised in Thousand Oaks, California. Hailee was featured in a couple of television commercials, TV show episodes, and short films as a little girl before she launched her film career after having appeared in the movie, "True Grit," as per All Music. Steinfeld was only 13 when she appeared in this film.

Hailee's role in "True Grit" was the key for her to star alongside A-list Hollywood icons, Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba, Kristen Wiig, Anna Kendrick, and Kevin Costner, while she was still as young as being in her teens. In 2015, Hailee starred in the music video of one of Taylor Swift's hit songs, "Bad Blood." Steinfeld was also simultaneously featured in the acoustic cover of Shawn Mendes' "Stitches."
