Hailee Steinfeld enlisted to help of Anderson .Paak for her most recent musical release, "Coast." Despite the dreary weather in November, the actress is still at the beach and having the time of her life.

"This song is deeply personal to me and was influenced by my California roots and the music I grew up listening to with my family," Steinfeld told Rolling Stone back in July, prior to the release of the music video.

The single was released back in July, however, the music video followed several months after, and Steinfeld had been so excited to unveil it to her fans.

"Ok but 'all I wanna do' is show you this music video," she wrote in an Instagram post. Sure enough, fans mirrored her enthusiasm and excitement to see the music video.

Following the trend of retro-inspired music videos and songs, Steinfeld's "Coast" music video had a mix of the retro theme and some beach themes as well.

It has been a while since Steinfeld released any new music. She has been more focused on her acting career as of late.

So "Coast" marks her return to the music scene, and she decided to go with Anderson .Paak for that extra impact.

"The only artist I envisioned collaborating with on this track was my friend, Anderson .Paak," she shared. "Knowing he loved the song enough to lend his genius to it is absolutely surreal, and I am forever grateful to have his support,"

According to reports, not only did .Paak "lend his genius' to the music-he also dabbled in the music video.; he was the 25-year-old actress' co-star and was the director for the music video.

Hiatus

Steinfeld has kept fans on their toes following the release of the single back in July. Many thought she might have forgotten about it, because it had taken so long.

"If you've been with me for a while you know this has been a long time coming. If you're new here... I'm about to release my first song in over a year," she told Rolling Stone prior to the release of the song.

While she is mostly an actress, Steinfeld has an amazing music career that has been sorely missed by fans when she went on a hiatus from music.

Her debut album, "Haiz," was released in November 2015, and it even received a platinum certificate from the Australian Recording Industry Association.

Her sophomore album came five years after her first. "Half Written Story," was released in May 2020. The album saw singles like "I Love You's," "Your Name Hurts," and "Wrong Direction."

Steinfeld has been busy with her acting career-which is highly successful-and might continue to be busy with it in the coming years, as she has been cast to voice the character of Gwen Stacy in the "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse," set to release in 2023, and "Spider-man: Beyond the Spider-verse," in 2024.

She is also currently the voice of the lead role in the animated action-adventure series, "Arcane."

If fans are expecting an entire album from the actress, they might be a bit disappointed to know that there is no word on whether she will put out any more new music in the future.
