Will Aerosmith resume its previously postponed Peace Out farewell tour?
Aerosmith started its farewell tour in Philadelphia in September, only to announce the postponement of the tour dates weeks later due to Steven Tyler's injury. The band decided to move the dates to 2024 to allow the frontman to recover from the vocal injury he sustained.
Regarding the status of the farewell tour, Joe Perry recently broke his silence and shared what the future holds for them.
Will Aerosmith Return or Disband?
Speaking with The Boston Globe, Perry opened up about the band members feeling bummed that they missed their New Year's Eve show, which was scheduled to take place at the TD Garden in Boston. He gave the fans the hope they had been waiting for, saying, "there's always next New Year's Eve" and that they would be back in late summer and fall of 2024.
Prior to the good news, Perry previously shared the band's future following its disappointing 2012 album.
"I want to get out and play to the fans," he said. "That's really the focus right now, to get out and play live. If we get time to work on some new music, that would be great."
He said, at that time, that Tyler and their bandmates' ages and their capacity to work on an album had been affecting them to create a new project.
Two months prior, Aerosmith confirmed the Peace Out tour, a 40-date North American tour leg that was supposed to be wrapped up on January 26 at Ball Center in Montreal, Quebec. It followed the band's Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency.

What Happened to Aerosmith's Tour?
In a social media post, Aerosmith confirmed that Tyler's doctor confirmed that his vocal injury was more serious than initially thought. He also fractured his larynx, which needed a longer care.
"He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential," the band said. "As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more."
Tyler issued a separate statement to express his heartbreak after the decision was made.
