Saturday Night Live will have a bit of a "Problem" for its upcoming season 40 premiere. After much speculation and rumors, the first round of musical guests for the late night NBC program were announced today (Sept. 10), featuring some of the biggest names in pop music with fall releases.

Reports early this morning seemed to indicate that Ariana Grande would be opening up the new season of SNL this year alongside host Chris Pratt, and after rumors swirled around the Internet, the official show Twitter account confirmed that America's two summer sweethearts would, in fact, be opening up the show on Sept. 27.

Grande, who released her second studio album My Everything, in August isn't the only artist with a new release to hit the stage in New York City's 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

SNL also confirmed that Maroon 5 will be performing this season, taking over season 40, episode two alongside Sarah Silverman on Oct. 4. Maroon 5 dropped its latest album V on Sept. 3, featuring the singles "Maps" and "Animals."

This will be Maroon 5's third appearance on Saturday Night Live - the band previously performed on the show in 2011 and 2012, with respective hosts Charlie Day and Jeremy Renner. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine also hosted SNL in January 2013, though Kendrick Lamar was the musical guest.

Only the first two episodes of Saturday Night Live have been officially confirmed by NBC. However, wide speculation from the likes of Splitsider reported that comedy legend Bill Murray would return to host SNL for the first time in 15 years this season, alongside rising alternative act Hozier.
