The Recording Academy has announced the 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awardees. Along with the 2024 Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy will hold a series of events and soirees during Grammy Week to honor various industry professionals and other endeavors.

The Recording Academy will conduct the Special Merit Awards ceremony during Grammy Week to honor these Grammy Lifetime Achievement awardees.

2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awardees

According to a press release that Variety has reported, N.W.A, Laurie Anderson, Gladys Knight, Donna Summer, Tammy Wynette, and the Clark Sisters will be receiving their respective lifetime achievement awards this year.

Veteran producer Peter Asher, hip-hop titan DJ Kool Herc, and music attorney Joel Katz will also be receiving the said prestigious honors. The Recording Academy will also be honoring the Trustees Award recipients - Tom Kobayashi and Tom Scott with the Technical Grammy Awards and K'naan, Steve McEwan, and Gerald Eaton (a.k.a. Jarvis Church) for their song "Refugee" with the Grammy Award for Best Song for Social Change Award.

 "The Academy is honored to pay tribute to this year's Special Merit Award recipients - a remarkable group of creators and industry professionals whose impact resonates with generations worldwide. Their contributions to music span genres, backgrounds and crafts, reflecting the rich diversity that fuels our creative community. We look forward to honoring these music industry trailblazers next month as part of our week-long celebration leading up to Music's Biggest Night," Grammy Chief Executive Officer Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement.

The Recording Academy's Special Merit Awards Ceremony will be taking place on Feb. 3, 2023, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. Someone from Summer, Wynette, and Kobayashi will be receiving their awards on their behalf following their respective passings.

Grammy Week 2024 Schedule

Billboard revealed that the 2024 Grammy Week will start on Jan. 31, 2023, with "A Celebration of Craft: Presented by Producers & Engineers and Songwriters & Composers Wings" at The Grammy Museum.

The day after (Feb 1), The Recording Academy will hold the Black Music Collective annual honors gala and the Grammy U Masterclass on the following day (Feb 2) along with the Entertainment Law Initiative at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and the MusiCares event at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The "UnitedMasters: A Celebration of Independence" event will be held at the Hollywood Palladium on the same day in the evening.

The Special Merits Awards Ceremony takes place the day after (Feb 3) in Los Angeles at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in the afternoon as the Pre-Grammy Gala in the evening at The Beverly Hilton.

On Feb. 4, 2023, the 2024 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony starts at the Peacock Theatre while the Telecast is at Crypto.com Arena in the evening.
