Madonna started her Celebration Tour at Barclays Center late again, resulting in a lawsuit filed by concertgoers.

On December 13, Madona jetted to New York as part of her ongoing Celebration Tour. The leg has received mixed reactions from fans and concertgoers, mainly due to the Queen of Pop starting some of her shows late.

However, two concertgoers finally snapped and slapped Madonna with a lawsuit.

Madonna, Live Nation Sued Over Late Celebration Tour

On Wednesday, January 17, two concertgoers in New York City filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn federal court following the scheduling conflicts in all three concerts in the city.

According to Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, the delay caused legal harm to them and other ticket buyers and alleged that Madonna breached her contract with the concertgoers. They also cited the New York state laws when they explained in the filing that Madonna performed at 10:30 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m.

"Defendants' actions constitute not just a breach of their contracts ... but also a wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices," the representatives for the ticket buyers said. "Defendants failed to provide any notice to the ticketholders that the concerts would start much later than the start time printed on the ticket and as advertised."

The documents added that they would not have paid for the tickets if they knew the shows would start late.

After attending the show, Fellows and Hadden left the venue at 1:00 a.m., leaving them stranded in the middle of the night due to limited public transportation.

In addition, the pair highlighted their struggles as they reportedly "had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day."

Live Nation and Barclays Center were also named as defendants.

"Madonna has a long history of arriving and starting her concerts late, sometimes several hours late," Fellows and Hadden continued. "This history occurred throughout her 2016 Rebel Heart Tour, her 2019-2020 Madame X Tour, and prior tours, where Madonna continuously started her concerts over two hours late."

Madonna and her representatives have yet to respond to the filing, but it was not the first time she faced a similar lawsuit.

In 2019, a fan named Nate Hollander sued the musician for allegedly breaching the contract when she started the Madame X tour show at Fillmore Miami Beach.
