Liam Payne of One Direction has confirmed what most of his fans have been dreading for about a month or so now: He is dating his old classmate from back home, Sophia Smith. This news comes a few weeks after the singer revealed to GQ magazine that he was not single, leading plenty of news sources and fans to start speculating on who the lucky lady might be. Also, sources claimed he flew his new girlfriend about 5,000 miles to see him and the rest of his band in concert in Los Angeles. Of course, now that the world knows who Smith is, she has had to delete her Instagram account due to some mean-spirited One Direction fans.
In a recent interview, Liam mentioned that he was "spoken for" when asked if he "flirts." After the revealing interview, Liam was asked, "What's this about you having a new girlfriend, is that public knowledge?"
"Yes, well it is now! It's new, she's sitting right over there," he responded, pointing to Smith. "It's not been long."

According to a source close to the new couple: "Liam has really fallen for her. It's getting very serious, very fast."
Another insider revealed why Sophia fell for Liam, and it does not have to do with his fame or money: "She's a sweet normal girl who likes Liam for who he is, not because he's in the most famous boy band in the world."
According to The Daily Mirror, Liam and Sophia were recently spotted partying at the London club Funky Buddha. Sophia was also spotted at the One Direction concert at the Staples Center in L.A. last Friday. She was seen in the band's VIP area, mingling with the other One Direction girlfriends Perrie Edwards and Eleanor Calder.
Liam was also spotted walking around with a mystery girl who was hidden from the paparazzi cameras. Now we know that he was with Sophia.
But just like Liam's previous girlfriend, Danielle Peazer, Sophia has been dealing with a lot of angry One Direction fans launching attacks on her through Twitter and Instagram. In fact, Liam's hometown beauty has deleted her Instagram account and made her other social media accounts very private.
