    Justin Bieber's Music Mondays series has come to a close (kind of). The last of the 10 individual singles, "Confident," was released at the strike of midnight on Dec 9. Smartly, Bieber ended things on a very high note with this instantly gratifying track, featuring up-and-coming MC Chance the Rapper.

    SPIN Magazine, one of our most trusted sources for music across many genres, has released its annual list of the best 50 albums of the year. Yes, it's a bit early (not going to give Britney Spears a fair shot guys?), but we're sure they're just trying to beat the holiday rush (you'll be able to check out Music Times' albums of the year list on December 23, and our staffers' respective playlists of the year on December 16). The top album is something you've definitely heard of, but may still come as a surprise.

    The downside to being a rapper is that pulling off covers is difficult. It's not like metal, where you can take any given song, down-tune your guitar and create something that sounds totally different. It's tough for rappers to make a rap sound different, hence all the remixes on the market featuring new verses from performers not featured on the original. The good news is that rappers have arresting enough personalities that, if they want, they can cover anything else and fans won't complain.
