• Celine Dion & Family Releases Statement on Husband Rene Angelil's Funeral

    It has been a tragic month for Celine Dion as her brother and husband Rene Angelil both died from cancer in a very short span of time. Her brother Daniel died just days after her husband, leading to tragic week for the “My Heart Will Go On” singer. Following her husband’s funeral on Jan. 22, Dion released a statement thanking her fans from their support during this trying time on her artist website. The letter was signed by Dion and all of Angelil’s children, two being from a previous marriage.

    It's been a tragedy laden week for Celine Dion, with the death of her brother Daniel, 59, following husband Rene Angelil's passing. Daniel had reportedly been fighting brain, tongue and throat cancer and died early this past Saturday (Jan. 16). His funeral will be held at the St-Simon-et-Jude in Charlemagne, Quebec following a tribute at the Salon Charles Rajotte in Repentigny, Quebec. Daniel leaves behind his mother Therese, as well as two daughters, Valerie and Marie Michelle. He is also survived by 13 brothers and sisters and two grandchildren Matis and Laurianne.

Reportedly, her brother Daniel, 59, is battling cancer following the death of her husband, Rene Angelil, from the disease in the same week. Daniel is currently in the hospital surrounded by his 13 brothers and sisters, as well as his mother, Therese, 88. The family arrived at the hospital on Thursday when they got news of his impending death.
