Celine Dion's life is certainly fraught with tragedy the past few days. Reportedly, her brother Daniel, 59, is battling cancer following the death of her husband, Rene Angelil, from the disease in the same week. Daniel is currently in the hospital surrounded by his 13 brothers and sisters, as well as his mother, Therese, 88. The family arrived at the hospital on Thursday when they got news of his impending death.

Dion's sister Claudette confirmed to the Journal Of Montreal as translated by the Daily Mail that her brother is dying of the disease, saying, "It's very painful. It's a matter of days or hours. It looks a lot like Rene, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. Our family is very experienced." She added that, "We are with Daniel, day and night. He is 59 years old, very young to be at the end of life."

"It could be any day now," a source told People Magazine. "No one knows how long he has. She had heard that he might pass on Tuesday but he seems to be holding on."

Dion has cancelled her Las Vegas shows to take time to grieve for her husband and be there for her brother. She reportedly is going to return to The Colosseum on Feb. 23.

"Celine is still in Vegas with her kids making plans for her husbands funeral," the source added to People. "It's a typical grieving process. There's moments of shed tears, moments of memories and laughter. She's grieving the loss of her husband."

While her husband was struggling with the disease, Dion exited her ongoing residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in order to be by his side, as well as canceling a tour in Asia. Ever a staunch supporter and the original mentor of her talent, Angelil insisted that she return to Vegas to continue her residency despite his condition. Family friend Josh Groban said at the time that her voice, "gives him life," and kept him hanging on.

It would seem her classic hit, "My Heart Will Go On," takes on new meaning this week.
