  • Brooklyn Police Shooting: The Game Writes Controversial Post

While thousands took to social media to express condolences to the families of the two NYPD officers killed Saturday, Dec. 20, the incident also made tempers flare across the Internet. The politics of the situation were unavoidable, as the shooter, who also died in the incident, had previously cited Eric Garner's controversial death as a motive for his actions. Perhaps the hottest celebrity take came from rapper The Game, who set off a firestorm after the following Instagram statement, via "VIBE": "I guess y'all "can't breathe" either. #RIPEricGarner#AllLivesMatter #ShitHasToChange #Now" The Compton hip-hop artist rushed to defend his statement as the negative comments flew in. Game said his words were in direct response to the recent viral picture of a New York policeman wearing custom "I CAN BREATHE" T-shirts.
  • Label Splits Far More Intense Than Current Lil wayne Drama: Dr. Dre and Death Row, The Game and G-Unit and More

Depending on how much faith you put in social media, it seems Lil Wayne is hellbent to get away from Cash Money Records due to the label allegedly refusing to release his Tha Carter V. Depending on how much faith you put in statements from management, it seems that Weezy won't be jumping ship. We're more inclined to believe the latter...after all, Cash Money kind of owns Wayne's personal label Young Money. Regardless, there have been uglier splits than this is the history of hip-hop. Here are a few of the most dramatic:

  • Yo Gotti Shares '11/11' Produced by Infamous [LISTEN]

Yo Gotti's upcoming studio album "The Art of Hustle" was originally promised for release today, Nov. 11, but if that does not end up happening, at least we have a new leak from the album, appropriately titled "11/11," which you can check out below. The Infamous-produced song features an eerie beat reminiscent of minimalist composers such as Philip Glass or Steve Reich, so this does not quite sound like your typical hip-hop track. You can check out Yo Gotti's "11/11" here: The Art of Hustle will be Yo Gotti's seventh studio album overall, his first since 2013's "I Am." Prior to "11/11," two other songs have also been shared from the album: "Errbody" and "I Feel Like" featuring Lil Boosie.
  • The Game Underwhelms with 'Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf'

Since the release of his debut album "The Documentary" nearly 10 years ago, The Game has been the crown jewel in West Coast hip-hop. He climbed the ranks among his fellow MCs and captivated many with his lyricism, but many great artists have hiccups in their discography, and the underwhelming "Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf" may be that for the hungry Game.
