Owen recounted in an interview with Billboard Pride how Lovato helped take his relationship with Crone to the next level. He shared that Lovato, during a "Tell Me You Love Me" tour stop, invited him onstage to help her with the next song. She sent her dancers offstage who found Owen in the audience.

"I didn't know what was going on. I thought I was going up there to like, dance," he said. "I thought we were going to have a little twerk session with her."

Onstage, Lovato pretended to ask Owen who came with him to the concert and invited Crone up to the stage. However, his boyfriend was not in the audience but was already backstage.

Crone appeared in the middle of the stage, rising from a trapdoor, bent down on one knee.

"I thought I could never love again, and then I completely fell in love with everything about you," Crone said. "You inspire me every day with your passion, your patience, your talents and generous heart."

Fans who attended the concert were all supportive for the couple.

Lovato has been nominated for LGBT+ Celebrity category at the 2018 British LGBT Awards. The awarding will be held on May 11 in London.
