Laine Hardy, the winner of "American Idol" season 17 back in 2019, looked back at his career and got candid about what he truly experienced on the show when he was still competing.

The musician recently appeared in an interview in a radio station called 100.7 in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he openly shared the worst part of being a contestant on the famed reality TV competition show.

"The worst part - but [also] the best part - would be leaving home. Going somewhere I'm not comfortable with. Stepping out of my comfort zone," he said.

Taste of Country reported that at the time when the musician entered the competition, he was only 17 years old and he wasn't even 20 when he won the entire season.

What Happened to Laine Hardy After Winning 'American Idol'?
