Justin Timberlake has been experiencing the fury of Britney Spears fans ever since he released the song "Selfish."
Timberlake released "Selfish" on Jan. 25, 2024, after continuous teasing on social media.

According to Variety, Britney Spears fans have been taking the pop princess' own record "Selfish," which was from the 2011 album "Femme Fatale" high up from the charts to outperform Timberlake's "Selfish."
The day after Timberlake's record was released, Britney's "Selfish" topped the iTunes Top Songs chart.
Fans celebrated the accomplishment on social media, saying:
"Britney Spears fans changed her life with their free Britney movement. Now they're making her go to #1. They're both powerful and petty," she added.
"As it should. Ben Shapiro was bragging earlier that his single was beating out everyone else," another commented.
"Congratulations to the Princess Of POP. A 13 year old non single song going number one ... without Britney having to lift a finger," someone said.
"She doesn't have a videoclip, a marketing team, investiment, or even knowledge this is happening, but she has the people... The Queen eill always win... Selfish by Britney Spears," a fan shared.
"My favourite part about all of this is that Britney is probably at home spinning to Janet or Lemonade not even aware she's got the #1 song on iTunes," a fifth person chimed in.
The song might be the last record that Spears fans would take to the top because she wouldn't be releasing an album any time soon.
Britney Spears Not Releasing Any Album Soon
In an Instagram post, Britney Spears shared a photo of Guido Reni's iconic painting of Salome with the Head of Saint John the Baptist, along with it was a lengthy caption that debunks Britney Spears' new album.
"Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album ... I will never return to the music industry !!!" she revealed in her post.
Very recently, The Sun reported that Charli XCX has been tapped to work on Britney Spears' new album. Insiders even claimed that the British songwriter already went to the studio penning new songs with the "Toxic" singer's guidance.
"When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me ... I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!" she went on to say.
