Chris Brown is now using his past anger management issues, such as his altercation with Rihanna, to dish out advice to Ray Rice and explain how he deals with handling his own anger. As AllHipHop points out Brown and Rihanna's infamous 2009 Grammy night fight resulted in probation and eventually lead to jail time and negative headlines for years. In his recently interview with MTV's Sway Calloway, the "Loyal" singer addressed the issue and dished out some advice to Rice, who is in a similar situation after footage of him hitting his wife surfaced.

"To Ray [Rice], or anybody else - because I'm not better than the next man - I can just say I've been down that road," he explained. "I deal with situations and I've made my mistakes too, but it's all about how you push forward and how you control yourself."

He went on to talk about his struggles with expressing himself and letting out his emotions.

"For me, I dealt with a lot of anger issues from my past. Just not knowing how to express myself verbally but at the same time not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they were."

According to AllHipHop, Brown was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress disorder after he completed 95 days of anger management back in February. Brown told Calloway that he still checks in with his therapist twice a week.

"So I just think help is great. I still talk to my therapist twice a week, and it helps me," he said. "If I'm frustrated and I'm dealing with something, to vent and say what I'm going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person, 'this is how you should react,' or 'it's good to feel this way because feelings, emotions, and energy are supposed to come and go. It's not supposed to stay there, you're not supposed to keep it inside, because it'll bottle up and you'll become a monster. So for me dealing with my anger issues and understanding myself and the life I've been through, where I'm headed and where I want to be has helped me really focus on what's important and not eff up."
