Lorde has embarked on her major headlining North American tour, and she's doing so with a little Kanye West and Bon Iver in the mix. During her tour kickoff on Sept. 5 in Philadelphia, the "Tennis Court" singer added covers of "Flashing Lights" and "Heavenly Father" into her setlist.
Lorde channeled Yeezy during her opening show by pulling from the illuminating lyrics of her own "Bravado" and leading into the Pure Heroine track with West's "Flashing Lights." Pulling mainly from the song's hook (originally sung by Dwele), Lorde blended together her world of alt-rock, pop and hip-hop with an oddly sensual and straightforward take on the Graduation single.
She then got a little more indie with her cover choices, pulling from Bon Iver's new Wish I Were Here song "Heavenly Father." Teasing it as a song about "having faith in anything, anyone or even yourself," she gave the tender, heartbreaking song its own due, rocking in a stunning white dress and oozing with emotion.

Lorde, of course, also mixed her own material into her setlist, opening up with "Glory and Gore" and of course hitting her biggest Pure Heroine tracks such as "Royals," "Tennis Court" and "White Teeth Teens" into the mix. Lorde will continue her U.S. tour tonight and tomorrow (Sept. 15, 16) at New York City's United Palace Theatre.
