People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have slammed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for going on a zoo date instead of going to an animal sanctuary in Sydney, Australia.

Meanwhile, actress Jennifer Coolidge, who has been a passionate PETA advocate, shares her thoughts on the couple's romantic getaway.

PETA Slams Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Romantic Zoo Date In Sydney

Last week, when Travis Kelce jetted to Australia to visit his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, before "The Eras" Tour, they were spotted going on a date at the Sydney Zoo with Sabrina Carpenter.

While the romantic getaway seemed harmless, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) tend to see it the other way around.

PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Welfare Debbie Metzler slammed the couple for the move, saying that they shouldn't have visited the zoo. (via UNILAD)

"While we understand all too well the appeal of seeing Australia's wildlife, PETA hopes that next time Taylor and Travis want to see wild animals, they'll spend their time and money at a true sanctuary," she said in a statement.

Metzler also pointed out that visiting a "sanctuary" is a better choice for Swift and Kelce's next date because visitors aren't allowed to feed or touch the animals there.

They're required to keep a respectful distance from the animals, compared to zoos, where people can get hands-on with the animals.

The two were spotted feeding a kangaroo at the Sydney Zoo while checking out other cages and exhibitions.

Jennifer Coolidge Reacts To Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Date

Emmy-winning actress Jennifer Coolidge, a passionate PETA advocate, reacted to the mega couple's date.

Speaking to TMZ, Coolidge had this to say:

"I'm not a big zoo person. I love Taylor. They seem like animal lovers, so I think there's nothing [wrong with that]. I can't condemn those guys. I love them," she said before being told about PETA's statement.

"I'm sure they didn't think about it so much. They probably were like trying to do something romantic, but I'm gonna let them off the hook on it, but I agree with PETA with everything. So they're the best animal groups around, so I do love them.
