How Did Elvis Presley Gain Weight?

As seen in his final concert, Presley looked unhealthy after gaining weight, which made him look too bloated.

Amid the questions about the cause of his extreme weight gain, one theory said his gluttony led him to that state. Per James Gregory's 1960 biography "The Elvis Presley Story," Presley became a heavy eater before passing.

"Note for his future wife: Elvis loves enormous breakfasts complete with sausage, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, home-baked rolls, and coffee. He has a tremendous appetite at breakfast. His wife should never develop elegant or expensive tastes," Gregory said.

While he tried to lose weight, his risky diet only led him to gain three and a half stone more before having 25 stone afterward. These caused him complications, including hypertension, enlarged colon and liver damage, per The Mirror.
