Throughout his career, Carlos Santana has already teamed up with some of the most prominent musicians in the music industry. Still, there was one project that he once aspired to that didn't happen, a band with another musician, but it didn't happen.

Gavin Rossdale, popularly known for being in the group Bush, was recently featured in Classic Rock Magazine. In it, he shared his initial plans to establish a Delta blues band with Santana.

"Me and Carlos were meant to do a band together, and he's let me down!... His idea was to do a band called Mud, with me, him and his wife, and it was a Delta blues band. I was like: 'I am up for it!'" he recalled.

The idea emerged after the two collaborated on stage at the American Music Awards in 2010. At the time, they performed the song "Get It On" by T. Rex.

Rossdale recalled that Santana told him he was like a "shaman" on stage and that he reminded him of Jim Morrison.

"I went for it, leaning on him, falling over him. That's why he enjoys being on stage with me," he recalled before their duet. (via Louder Sound)
