Over the past four months, Tate McRae has been making a splash: helming her SNL debut, performing at NHL All-Star Weekend in Canada, and meeting fellow pop star Justin Bieber.

McRae met Bieber when she performed a televised eight-minute set that included her top 40 hit "Exes" and top 5 hit "Greedy," while Bieber served as a celebrity captain at NHL All-Star Weekend last month. 

 

In a new interview, she was asked if she and Bieber planned to collaborate soon, and she was quick to answer. 

Justin Bieber, Tate McRae Collab Soon? 

When Cosmopolitan asked if fans could expect a collaboration with him or anyone else, she certainly did not close the doors.

"Hopefully I do a collab in the near future. It's one of the next things I wanna do in my career. Justin has been an inspiration of mine for so long, it was such a cool experience to hang out with him and get to know him. He's a really nice guy," she shared.  

Bieber, however, has given mixed signals to fans, regarding whether or not he has already decided to retire.

According to a People insider, the singer ditched his long-time manager Scooter Braun in 2023 because he was already working on his latest album solo.

"The relationship with Scooter has run its course," the insider said. 

However, reports released in 2024 claimed the singer no longer plans to do anything music-related. Can McRae change his mind?

In the Cosmopolitan interview, McRae was asked what lessons she had acquired from past tours that she wanted to continue or stop, and she got candid.

She related that setting a tour routine is one of the hardest things imaginable. Because she's on tour for so long and alone, neglecting her health can become possible, and she can quickly become exhausted.

Therefore, she now makes sure that during tours, she stays healthy, works out, and stays hydrated.

She additionally shared that her music tastes have evolved so much in four years that her own sound is always changing, and that she's making music for herself because it's therapeutic.

She explained that writing usually helps her get through the year by providing perspective, so it would be pointless if she was not writing for herself.

"What I search for when I listen to music is to find the words I don't know how to say. I just hope other people feel the same way with my music," she noted.

The child dancer-turned-global pop sensation is 20 and already collecting career milestones like infinity stones at major venues, events, and music charts. She's preparing for her highly anticipated Think Later World Tour, which will begin in Dublin Apr.17.
