Dr. Dre is regarded as one of the most legendary musicians in the hip-hop music industry. Still, during parts of his life he struggled, as he recently shared shocking information about an aneurysm that led to three strokes.

The rapper and businessman recently sat down in an interview with James Corden on his SiriusXM show The Life of Mine, where he revealed his health struggles in 2021 that led to his hospitalization and, eventually, his three strokes.

"It's just something that you can't control that just happens and during those two weeks," he recalled. (via Billboard)

He looked back on the tragic incident, saying it all began when he felt "the worst pain" behind his right ear when he woke up one day.

Dre Recalls the Moment He Was Hospitalized

Later on, he continued his day as usual, but later decided to lay down and take a nap until his son's friend, who was at their home at the time, told him that he needed to be taken to the hospital, so he went to urgent care afterward.

By the time he arrived at the medical facility, Dre said he was "blacking out" and "in and out of consciousness," which led to his stay in the ICU for two weeks.

"I'm hearing the doctors coming in and saying, 'You don't know how lucky you are,'" he added.

The musician spent some time at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and later thanked the doctors who helped him throughout his medical journey.

Dre Was Healthy at the Time He Was Hospitalized

Dre also shared that he asked doctors about what he could've done to prevent an aneurysm, but no one could answer him directly.

He noted that he had no idea that his blood pressure was high at the time; and recalled his routine of lifting weights, running, and doing anything to keep himself fit and healthy.

However, an aneurysm has been regarded by doctors as a "silent killer" because a person can have no idea there is an issue. The rapper is advising people to stay on top of their health checks for this reason.

After the incident, Dre became grateful, as it made him appreciate being alive.

The rapper isn't the only celebrity who has survived an aneurysm as other big stars like Emilia Clarke, Neil Young, Sharon Stone, and more also have suffered the same condition. (via Metro)
