Usher and his longtime partner, Jennifer Goicoechea, decided to get married on a whim, and they did not only shock fans but his family as well.

"It was an incredible moment," the R&B icon said about his shotgun wedding, hinting that he has another one planned, which will be "incredible" and "over-the-top."

"My mother was there, her mother was there, our kids were there, our immediate family was there, matter of fact, everybody was surprised," Usher added in an interview.

"I'm like, 'No no no no, we're having a wedding right now. We're gonna go have Elvis officiate us. They're like, What?"

It is unclear when Usher and Goicoechea began dating. Paparazzi caught sight of them in December 2016, and it was not until March 2018 did they make their relationship official on social media.

"Listen, when you find someone that you know is a great partner, of course it is an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you and loves you, who you are," the "Yeah!" hitmaker told People Magazine.

"We've obviously made a commitment to life for life together because of our children. It wouldn't be odd for us to get married. We already did here. You know what I'm saying?"

The couple share two children together" Sovereign Bo, 4, and Sire Castrello, 3.

Usher also has two other kids from his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, Usher V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15.

Marrying Goicoechea after he wrapped up his Super Bowl halftime show performance was a no-brainer for the "OMG" singer.

He described it as "a button at the end of an incredible Las Vegas run."

According to reports, the shotgun wedding might have come as a surprise for Usher's fans and his family, but the couple have been planning it out for days.

The "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" hitmaker and Goicoechea obtained a marriage license days before he headlined the Super Bowl halftime show.

Usher, born Usher Raymond IV, is an American singer-songwriter and dancer. He rose to prominence in the late 1990s to early 2000s with hits like "U Got It Bad," "Nice & Slow," and "U Remind Me."
