Grammy-winning rapper Childish Gambino and his wife Michelle White's marriage story is something many would not anticipate.

Gambino, also known as Donald Glover, revealed that he married Michelle White and went straight to work after the nuptials.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Donald Glover revealed that he married Michelle White one morning before returning to work for "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

 "There was a day where I don't think we had to be on set until noon or 1, so, I was like, 'Can we get married today?' I got married in the morning," he remembered. "We had a real wedding afterwards, too. [That night, though,] we went to our favorite restaurant and then [White's] parents and my mom were waiting for us at the house."

Based on the production timeline, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" started production in the Summer of 2022. It was supposed to be released in 2023 but was bumped to 2024 because of the Hollywood strikes. With this information, it could be inferred that Glover and White tied the knot between 2022 and 2023.

Glover's decision to marry starkly contrasts his opinions on marriage in 2018.

"I didn't know what I was getting out of it," he disclosed. "I felt like I knew what she was getting out of it, and I didn't feel like she was being honest, necessarily, about what she was getting out of it."

Glover and White share three children; they have been seeing each other since early 2015.

"Now I realize, yeah, maybe she's gaining some stuff, but she's also losing a lot of stuff. And we eventually had an honest talk and she was like, 'I'm a traditional woman.' And when she said that, some part of me was like, 'And I want to help you be that.' Whatever she needs me to be, that makes me happy," he added to his realization.

Did Childish Gambino Date Jhene Aiko?

Many have speculated that the two were dating, but a BuzzFeed interview between Donald Glover and Maya Erskine seemed to dismiss that. Despite not naming Jhene Aiko, Glover said he was "friend-zoned" by that person. (via Complex)

Social media and his fans knew it was Aiko, with whom he has been linked romantically multiple times. Glover has since denied the allegations.
