Cardi B seemed to have taunted the Los Angeles Police Department on one of her Instagram Live sessions.

However, as clips of her went viral on social media, her team clarified that it was just taken out of context.

Cardi B Threatened the LAPD?

Recalling a particularly distressing encounter she had on the weekend, Cardi B detailed to her loyal Bardigangs what happened to her when she was stopped by the police. (via HipHopDX)

"You don't even know what happened to me yesterday, like, y'all don't even know," Cardi told her followers. "I got stopped by the cops and everything. I got stopped by the cops yesterday. You gon' see, it's gonna hit TMZ real soon. They thought I was trafficking. Yeah, they thought I was trafficking fentanyl. And they thought I had a gun in my car."

Cardi elaborated that she was outside of her car for three hours, even likening the encounter to a movie scene.

"But you already know I'm 'bout to sue the LAPD. They got me f-ked up for doing it," she threatened. According to the Grammy-winning rapper, she claims that the police received a tip about her, insinuating that one of her "opps" had put the police on her tail.

"It was, like, some white cops or something. They didn't know who I was so they was really tough on me and everything. They said that somebody gave them a clue," she added. "I already feel like it was one of my opps and s-t. They really trying to ruin my life."

Cardi B's Team Claims LAPD Encounter Was 'Out of Context'

Meanwhile, Cardi B's fans posted online that Cardi B was just joking on her Instagram Live.

"YALL NEED TO STOP CLICKBAITING CARDI SAID SHE WAS JOKING! UPDATE YOUR STORY NEOW," a fan wrote.

"Now billboard she clearly said this was a joke," another commented.

"They really got yall putting out false claims that are now said to be A JOKE by Cardi B! This is embarrassing for you BLOGS She making yall look like unreliable sources that post everything she says as factual instead of lies for attention," one added.

Meanwhile, Cardi B told Billboard that Cardi B's Instagram Live story about being intercepted by the LAPD was "taken out of context."

"This IG live was taken out of context and there is no truth to this story. Apologies for any confusion," Cardi B's team added.

On the other hand, the LAPD confirmed that they "don't have any record of any traffic stop," despite Cardi B's claims.
