Cardi B knows a thing or two about rejection despite being one of the most prominent and successful female rappers in the music industry.

On several occasions, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker opened up about her struggles one of which was her body type.

Cardi B is known for her voluptuous figure, but it did her no favors when it came to fashion.

"There are so many obstacles against us," the rapper confessed to The Hollywood Reporter. "For example, this body is not meant for a size 2. I'm very hips, ass and that's me."

Despite that, Cardi B has been hailed as one of the best-dressed stars who has graced the Met Gala red carpet and other major events, such as the Grammy Awards, Marie Claire reports.

"It was not easy, but we make it look easy. Our door was closed many times but we're here because we do it well. I'm not going to be humble about it."

Cardi B Becomes A Fashion Icon?

The "WAP" hitmaker knows a thing or two about setting trends; after all, she surpassed several female rappers who had long been in the rap game before breaking in with her hit debut album, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018.

"I don't think there were many women like Cardi who existed in the fashion space," said the rapper's stylist, Kollin Carter. "Now there are a ton of other rap females who aspire to be in that space because they see what's possible. We set trends.

"We've given look after look, year after year. We've reached into archives that are impossible to reach into."

Cardi B Admits Being Vulnerable to Hate Comments

Cardi B is not the type to shy away from confrontation, but she revealed in an interview that negative criticism about her and her music sometimes gets under her skin.

That is one of the primary reasons she is releasing her highly anticipated sophomore album.

"I should already start talking about the album because I'm going to be putting it out very soon," she explained in an interview, as per Hypebeast.

"Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much. For my first album, I didn't get to do not even half the things I wanted to do because I was super super duper pregnant. I missed out on a lot of videos I wanted to do, I missed out on touring - I just missed out on a lot of things, so I just gotta make sure that everything is just planned out."
