Toby Keith will receive an "all-star salute" at the CMT Music Awards 2024.

On Sunday, April 7, the CMT Music Awards will honor musicians who have made notable contributions to the country genre. CBS will air the ceremony live, but the event will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

The three-hour telecast will also honor Keith through a special all-star salute.

Toby Keith To Be Honored at the CMT Music Awards

In a report shared by Variety, the CMT Music Awards 2024 will feature performances from Lainey Wilson, Brooks & Dunn, Sammy Hagar and more musicians as they pay homage to the late music icon.

Meanwhile, the salute will reportedly have special appearances from Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemons, to name a few.

CMT will further honor Keith in the one-hour tribute special, CMT Music Awards Celebrates Toby Keith, which will premiere on April 11.

The all-star salute will be one of the highly anticipated parts of the awards show, along with performances from Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman, Jason Aldean, Parker McCollum, Brittney Spencer, and Old Dominion, among others.

Meanwhile, Amber Riley, Billy Bob Thornton, Carly Pearce, Cody Alan, Cody Johnson, Emily Osment, Emma Roberts, Gayle King, James Van Der Beek, Jane Seymour and more will serve as presenters, per Billboard.

Remembering Toby Keith

Keith confirmed his cancer diagnosis in June 2022, revealing he underwent chemotherapy, surgery and radiation for six months. While fighting his disease, he helped other cancer-stricken individuals and promoted groups that help people with the dreaded illness.

"I've been doing - been on the old rollercoaster, but Almighty's riding shotgun. He's letting me drive for some reason, but we're making a big announcement," he said when he announced his shows amid his cancer battle. "I'm doing a little deal and thought I'd start in the great Las Vegas."

Keith shared his journey for two years until he passed away peacefully on February 5.

"He fought his fight with grace and courage," the statement on Instagram read. "Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."

Keith is survived by his wife, three children and grandchildren.
