Country star Colt Ford  suffered a heart attack Thursday night (Apr. 4) following playing a show at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row bar in Gilbert, Ariz.

Ford's team confirmed to Music Times that he is currently in intensive care at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.

He is currently scheduled to play in Primm, Nev. Friday night; the date has not been removed from his website as of posting time.

Ford has a history of health issues, including eye cancer and a battle with an autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis.

"It hadn't really affected my throat, but it really affected my eye," Ford explained of the condition to Taste of Country in 2023. "I had no control over my right eye. It really messes with your vision. I could see perfectly out of either eye, but then I would look together and I'd see three of you and you would be melting together like a lava lamp."

Ford, 54, released his eighth studio album, Must be the Country, in 2023. He is a pioneering artist in fusing hip-hop with country, and is well known for having co-written Jason Aldean's smash hit "Dirt Road Anthem."
