Colt Ford Health Update: How the Country Star is Doing After His Recent Heart Attack

Colt Ford remains in "critical condition" but is now "stable" after experiencing a heart attack on Thursday.

Reports from 12News reveal that the 54-year-old country singer was moved to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale the following day.

Despite the health scare, footage from his performance on Thursday evening shows in Arizona no indication of any discomfort as he entertained the crowd on stage.

Following a lively performance at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Ford experienced a sudden heart attack. Subsequently, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.

Concert attendee Kelli Williams shared her thoughts about Colt Ford's performance with The Blast.

According to Williams, towards the show's conclusion, the country hitmaker appeared tired, but she commended his unwavering energy as he gave his all on stage and engaged with the audience.

As Williams left the concert venue, her mind filled with the echoes of the evening.

The distant wails of sirens, growing louder, stirred a sense of unease within her. Her immediate concern was for the safety of those involved in the commotion.

In a separate account given to TMZ, another bystander described hearing a commotion inside the bar when an officer urgently announced that an individual had collapsed near the bar counter.

Colt Ford Health Issues

Ford's health struggles have been well-documented, with a past marked by battles against eye cancer and the autoimmune condition Myasthenia Gravis.

He told People magazine, "The doctor told me I was a week to 10 days from having to go on full chemo."

A close examination by a friend prompted him to seek medical attention when a peculiar spot was discovered in his eye.

"I went to a doctor in Georgia that specialized in cataracts and all that stuff, and I remember them saying, 'This ain't good' and 'You gotta get this out.'"

After his surgery, Ford made a return to his music career and effectively managed his cancer treatment with the help of chemotherapy drops. In 2023, he delighted fans with his final album, Must Be The Country, featuring collaborations with artists Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, and Dillon Carmichael.

In the past year, Ford shared his journey battling health issues and how it motivated him to prioritize self-care.

In an interview with Taste of Country, he expressed, "I've made significant improvements in my physical fitness and overall well-being. I am thrilled with where my life is heading, especially with my upcoming wedding in October."

"Meeting my partner has brought immense joy and contentment into my life, which is on par with my passion for music, if not surpassing it. I feel like my creativity has not even peaked yet."

He went on to reveal, "Recently, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition known as Myasthenia Gravis. It has been a challenging period for me. Dealing with this disease has presented its struggles and uncertainties, as there is currently no known cure."

He said his condition "affects the muscles in your face, your eyes, and your throat. It hadn't affected my throat, but it really affected my eye. I had no control over my right eye. It really messes with your vision. I could see perfectly out of either eye, but then I would look together and I'd see three of you and you would be melting together like a lava lamp."
