Blink-182 has canceled three of their Mexico City concerts due to illness. The trio was supposed to play at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.

According to a post shared by Ocesa, Blink-182's official tour promoter in Mexico, the band is canceling three of its shows in the city due to illness.

The cancellation came after the band also canceled their first performance in the venue on April 2. Blink-182 canceled their April 5 and April 6 performances at the Palacio de los Deportes.

The shows were supposed to be Blink-182's first Mexico shows in 20 years.

Blink-182 singer/guitarist Mark Hoppus assured fans they didn't cancel the show on a whim.

"We don't take canceling lightly. We know people booked flights, hotels, made plans, got babysitters... We had multiple lengthy discussions all morning within the band, with promoters, managers. We tried moving the date, tried every possible solution, but this is the reality. We appreciate your understanding and support," Hoppus wrote on his Discord, as quoted by Billboard.

Hoppus said he had already seen a doctor in Mexico and even talked to his doctor back home. He is taking multiple medications and has been resting in bed for the past three days. Although he had hoped it was just allergies, it turned out to be an acute infection in his throat and severe bronchitis.

"Got on meds immediately with the kind help of the local promoters and have been on treatment," he added.

The tour promoter has promised refunds to ticket holders for the canceled shows. Those who bought tickets online will receive their refund on the card used to make the purchase.

Blink-182 Fans Infuriated Over Last-Minute Cancellations

Over on X, formerly Twitter, some Blink-182 fans are angry over the last-minute cancellations.

"What courage, @ocesa_total @Ticketmaster_Me the health issue is understandable, but are you really going to continue allowing these situations as promoters? Can any artist cancel and notify almost instantly?" a fan said.

"You don't know how bad I feel I looked for all this for my husband, one of his favorite bands, it was their first big concert, we decided to wait since last year, all week excited that I would finally see them. I don't even know what to say to my husband, how little @blink182," another shared.
