The artists voted to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are reacting to the news, which was first announced Sunday (April 21) night on American Idol.

Peter Frampton, who also happened to be celebrating his 74th birthday on Monday (April 22), took to Instagram on Sunday, shortly after the announcement to share his thoughts.

"This is something I never expected. I am overwhelmed that I will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, especially alongside so many incredible artists who have gone before me," he wrote. "I can't thank everyone enough for voting for me. You are the best. Somebody pinch me please!!"

Among those who commented on Frampton's post, was his daughter Jade. "So well deserved! Proud of you Dad," she wrote, along with a heart emoji.

Foreigner, another classic rock act that got the nod for 2024, also weighed in. "With hearts full of gratitude, we reach out to you today to share a momentous milestone in the odyssey of Foreigner. We have been announced as 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, an honor that is as much yours as it is ours," the band said in a statement addressed to the "Foreigner family." The statement also included a quote from the band's founder and chief songwriter, Mick Jones "I was thrilled to learn of Foreigner's nomination, and this confirmation of our coming membership in the home of my peers is a priceless highlight of my career. October 19th will be an emotional day for me, Lou, Al, Dennis, and Rick, and a very special moment for the families of Ian and Ed," he said. The statement to the fans continued, "This incredible journey of ours could not have reached such a pinnacle without your unwavering support and enthusiasm. In celebration and as a sincere thank you, Foreigner will be adding additional shows to our Farewell Tour, a gesture to honor the support you've so generously provided us over the years," the band said. "Please join us in spirit on October 19, 2024, in Cleveland, as we stand alongside our peers in a ceremony that commemorates our shared history and love for rock & roll. This induction is a tribute to the music, the memories, and most importantly, to you, our fans." Ozzy Osbourne, who will enter the Rock Hall as a solo artist after getting in with Black Sabbath in 2006, also shared his thoughts on Instagram. "Thank You @RockHall Voters & Fans for this induction," he wrote. "My solo career has been a much larger part of my overall music career as a whole, so this feels more special. Not bad for a guy who was fired from his last band. #ozzy #rockhall #rockandroll #rocknroll #rockandrollhalloffame #halloffame #rockhall2024" Interestingly, among those who congratulated Ozzy was Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk, who declined to show when his band was inducted in 2023, leaving guitarist Tom Morello to accept the honor solo. (Wilk played with Osbourne in the final lineup of Black Sabbath.)
