Kelly Clarkson received praise from her former stepmother-in-law, Reba McEntire, after singing the latter's song on her show.

The American Idol Season 1 winner serenaded her fans on the Wednesday, May 1, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with a cover of McEntire's "Till You Love Me" during her Kellyoke segment.

After receiving heartfelt messages from the viewers, Clarkson got a shoutout directly from her former stepmother-in-law.

"Thanks KC for covering my song #TillYouLoveMe on your show today!" the country singer wrote in the post. "Did y'all catch her beautiful rendition?"

She also shared the same post on her X page and gave her fans the link to watch the performance.

McEntire and Clarkson were previously related.

The "Does He Love You" singer was once married to Narvel Blackstock, Brandon Blackstock's father. They called it quits in 2015, while Clarkson and Brandon finalized their divorce two years after they split in 2020.

Despite being no longer connected, Clarkson confirmed in 2023 that she was still in touch with McEntire.

"We were friends before Brandon and I got together," she said. "We text each other all the time. [We were] both women of sound mind that know that life doesn't work out sometimes."

Clarkson also revealed in 2018 that she had been a fan of McEntire since she was a little girl because of the "Fancy" songstress' "tone and her storytelling that just feels like home."

Kelly Clarkson Covers a Coldplay Hit

Aside from McEntire's song, Clarkson offered a jaw-dropping cover of Coldplay's "Fix You" during her show's recent episode. All members of the band - Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, and Guy Berryman - wrote the track as part of their third studio album, X & Y, in 2005.

"Lights will guide you home/And ignite your bones/And I will try to fix you," Clarkson delivers an emotional line from the song, earning praise from her fans.

In 2023, she also covered Coldplay's "Always in My Head" track and added a spin.

"Kellyoke fans can expect to see Kelly and her band perform impromptu duets with our 30 Rock neighbors and talent from Broadway, plus more 'Songs & Stories' episodes with artists such as Pink, Garth Brooks, and Chris Martin. We'll also do our signature 'Good Neighbor' segment, highlighting everyday people doing extraordinary things in their communities," showrunner Alex Duda told Entertainment Weekly
