A news anchor's slipup just piled onto an already tough week for Drake.

During a report on Eyewitness News ABC7, a news anchor mistakenly referred to Drake as a "raper," as opposed to a "rapper." The flub occurred as he was setting up a story about the shooting that took place outside of the musician's home in Canada.

"Lots of questions tonight about a security guard who was shot outside the mansion of the raper ... rapper, I should say, Drake in Toronto."

Both the news anchor and his co-host kept straight faces during the awkward moment, with his counterpoint jumping right in after to complete the story setup. After recovering from misspeaking, the pair threw the story to field producer Darla Miles.

ABC uploaded the news clip to their website, with the short clip from the broadcast going viral across social media. However, after it was removed the next morning after a flurry of attention and criticism.

Many tied it to the national attention on Drake's massive feud with Kendrick Lamar. Many referred to the moment as a "Kendrickian Slip," as opposed to a "Freudian Slip." Another social media user joked that Kendrick now "got the perfect diss track intro," after the dueling rappers have repeatedly been releasing diss tracks aiming at each other.

The missing "p" came at a bad time for the "God's Plan" singer, especially after Lamar has repeatedly accused him of being a predator in his countless diss tracks aimed at the rapper. One track called Drake a "pedophile," which he quickly shut down.

"I've never been with no one underage.. For clarity, I feel disgusted, I'm too respected / If I was f-----g young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested / I'm way too famous for this s--t you just suggested."

Emergency authorities were called to Drake's house at 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning to investigate a shooting in Toronto residential area The Bridle Path. At the time of their arrival, the suspect had allegedly already fled the scene. A security member from the artist's team had been shot, sustaining serious injuries. Drake was not injured.

Authorities are still determining the motive behind the shooting. Investigators still have not determined why the security guard was the target. However, after serious investigation, they have made the decision to increase police presence in the community.

There have been a multitude of fan theories that the incident is linked to the ongoing beef between the musical artists. However, this has yet to be proven.

Other speculation has point out that it could be connected to Drake's ongoing tension with The Weeknd, after there was a shooting at the home of his manager, Cash XO. Drake has formerly taken shots at both The Weeknd and Cash XO in his "Push Ups" track, although it is also unconfirmed if the incidents had any relation.
