As expected, Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson was put under a court-ordered conservatorship Thursday (May 9) that will be overseen by his manager/publicist Jean Sievers and his business manager LeeAnn Hard, according to Rolling Stone.

In a petition that was filed in February, Wilson's representatives revealed that the Beach Boys mastermind, 81, is suffering from dementia.

In granting the petition, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Gus T. May found that Wilson is suffering from a "major neurocognitive disorder" and needs assistance, according to the report.

In a change from the original petition, the judge added a late addendum at the request of an attorney working for Wilson's two oldest daughters - Carnie Wilson Bonfiglio and Wendy Wilson Knutson, best known as two-thirds of '90s hitmakers Wilson Phillips.

During the hearing, their attorney Justin Gold told the court that Wilson's daughters asked that "all of Brian's children who wish to be added will be added to the text chain from his nurses providing updates about Brian." The also requested that the conservators "consult" with Wilson's children "regarding all material healthcare decisions." The judge agreed and added that language before signing the ruling, granting all seven of Wilson's children those rights, Rolling Stone reported.

Only Wilson's medical and personal issues fall under the conservatorship. Hard is the trustee and has power of attorney as it relates to Wilson's finances and trust.

According to the petition filed in February, "Mr. Wilson will remain in his home, and it is Ms. Sievers' and Ms. Hard's intent to ensure that all of Mr. Wilson's daily living needs are satisfied, and he has the best possible care while remaining in his home."

The petition was issued shortly after Wilson's wife, Melinda Ledbetter, died on Jan. 30 at the age of 77.

In a capacity declaration, Dr. Stephen S. Marmer, a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, said that it would be physically difficult and "emotionally very stressful" for Wilson to appear in court. "He is easily distracted" and "often makes spontaneous irrelevant or incoherent utterances," the outlet reported

Judging by his social media accounts, Wilson is having visitors at home. A post earlier this week featured a photo of Wilson with Billy Idol, with the pair sharing compliments in the caption. "It was fantastic meeting Brian and incredible to realize he loved 'Eyes Without a Face,'" Idol wrote, though it's unclear exactly when the meeting took place.

Back in April, Wilson's account posted photos of him, family, and friends in a suite at Crypto.com Arena enjoying a Lakers game.
