Taylor Swift is always being dissected for her lyrics. Fans make a game out of trying to match up Swift's song to her exes and then the rumors really begin to swirl. The 24-year old singer often finds herself under another type of microscopic and it belongs to the fashion world.
This year, she traded in some sweet, young looks in favor of crisper lines and serious risk-taking, and it looks to have really paid off seeing as she just landed on top of a popular best-dressed list.
Each year, People Magazine names its' top 10 best-dressed celebrity style icons and this time around Swift ran away with the coveted top spot. Other stars on the newly-released list include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Lupita Nyong'o, Emma Watson, Emma Stone and both Chloe Grace Moretz and Kiernan Shipka tied for a spot.
The "Shake It Off" singer likely climbed to the top of the pack by looking decidedly more grown up and sophisticated. She traded in Kennedy-era dresses for form fitting ballgowns and little sequined mini's. The end result obviously made people in the fashion world really take notice.
Kerry Washington was the best-dressed woman last year and didn't make the list again this time out. Given the fact that Washington gave birth earlier this year it's not so shocking to not see her name in the mix. Her usually impeccable style will probably put her back in the running next year.
