JEFF The Brotherhood, a Nashville duo consisting of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, decided to pay homage to a quartet of their favorite songs with the forthcoming EP Dig the Classics.

The release will contain six covers:

1. "Gouge Away" by Pixies
2. "Mystery" by The Wipers
3. "Come in Alone" by My Bloody Valentine
4. "Cujo" by Colleen Green
5. "Mad Dog 20/20" by Teenage Fanclub
6. "Totally Confused" by BECK

The EP's first offering is the Pixies tune, with Jake and Jamin turning the song into a vintage Nirvana cut thanks to Jake's reverbed vocals and some trash-compactor guitar effects.

Give it a spin here.

Sons of producer/performer Robert Ellis Orrall, the duo began recording together in high school, and eventually produced their debut album, I Like You, in 2001. They're currently working on the follow-up to 2012's Hypnotic Nights, which barely snuck into the Billboard 200 at No. 198.

Dig the Classics is due out Sept. 30, and JTB is currently on the road with Music Band and Diarrhea Planet.
