Most of the recent Garth Brooks news has been focused on the mammoth tour he's currently stitching together.
But he dropped another important tidbit on Friday: the release date for his new, untitled album.
Fans can expect the LP — which will feature the singles "People Loving People" and "Send 'Em on Down the Road" — on Nov. 11. To be released on his new digital music website, GhostTunes, the new record is also available in a bundle deal that gives customers all of his current studio albums plus this year's and next year's projects.
Friday also brought the announcement of two shows in Lexington, Ky., a city he last visited in 1998 (oddly enough, Trisha Yearwood opened for that show, too).
Brooks is currently tearing through a seven-date stop in Atlanta after going on an 11-show run in Chicago earlier this month. He's been savvy during scheduling, waiting for announced shows to sell out before adding more shows until he maxes out the audience.
Our own Ryan Book noted that Lexington creates a geographical challenge for those attempting to predict where Brooks will head next.
The new location announcement somewhat throws a wrench in trying to figure out where he'll head next for his fifth stop. Back-to-back stops in Atlanta and Jacksonville suggested he'd either come back up the East Coast or along the Gulf but now he can move in a number of directions from Lexington. He's got to get around to the big cities along the Atlantic eventually but we're not holding out breath. The dude clearly knows what he's doing and he's going to take his time doing it.
