Amanda Bynes is back in the news this morning, but unfortunately not for good reasons.

The former child star was stopped in Van Nuys Sunday and, after failing several field sobriety tests, was arrested for a DUI. Apparently, Bynes admitted to taking Adderall before getting behind the wheel, and while the drug is prescribed to her, that is kind of irrelevant.

The fact that she drove while impaired is the issue, and it also means Bynes could easily be looking at a probation violation as well.

Sources close to Bynes said that while the actress was on the straight and narrow for the better part of a year, in recent weeks she had started to regress. Up until recently, Bynes's parents were handling her finances, but their conservatorship ended this month with everyone believing she was well enough to have access to her money again.

Apparently, Bynes almost immediately moved out of her parents's home and into an Orange County home.

That may not have been the best move for Bynes, whose overall health is not good. Sources said she has allegedly begun smoking a lot of weed again while not taking the medication necessary to keep her schizophrenia and bipolar disorders under control.

In other words, this sounds like if someone does not swoop in and help Bynes get herself together, she could be inching toward becoming the same mess she was before her parents intervened last year.

Do you think the DUI was a mistake in judgment and that Bynes will see it as a wake-up call and realize how quickly she can fall back into that proverbial rabbit hole if she is not careful?
