• Amanda Bynes, Johnny Cash and Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes: 5 Cases of Celebrity Arson and Other Fire Crimes

Steve Miller found himself in the hot seat when he arrested for disorderly conduct after he lit a pile of his friend's belongings on fire and attempted to fight police who responded to the call (how good of a friend this was seems like a question worth asking). The leader of the Steve Miller Band should consider himself lucky that his dumb decision didn't get out of control. Most of the individuals arrested or charged with the crimes listed below had to deal with much more severe consequences for their actions, including Johnny Cash and Amanda Bynes.
  • Amanda Bynes Reportedly Off Meds, but Lucid, Back on Track

Just a few short months ago we were talking about how Amanda Bynes' parents had all but given up on her. They had literally washed their hands of trying to help her get her life under control and were done with the court battles over hospitalizing the once popular actress. In fact Bynes parents packed their bags and left California all-together to be closer to their other, saner daughter. After a few months of acting out and racking up another DUI, Bynes is reportedly doing much better.
  • Amanda Bynes's Parents Surrendering Conservatorship, Moving To Texas

The family struggle for control over Amanda Bynes's well-being seems to be coming to a screeching halt this week, as her parents are headed back to court once again. This time it will be different, though. Rather than fighting for conservatorship, they are instead ready to transfer everything over to someone else. According to a report by TMZ, Bynes's parents will be filing documents with the court soon to surrender the conservatorship over to a mental health professional. Bynes's finances will likely then be placed in the hands of an official money manager. After fighting with their daughter for years, it seems her parents are conceding that they cannot effectively help her at this point. They are hoping that if control is placed in the hands of someone else, then Bynes will perhaps stop lashing out so viciously and start to listen. Not only are her parents kind of washing their hands of the dysfunction, but they are also leaving California altogether. After a few years of drama, they are said to be ready to move to Texas to be near their older — and likely saner —daughter instead.
  • Amanda Bynes Bought Cartier for Complete Strangers, Family Awarded Conservatorship Again

Yesterday we told you there was a chance that Amanda Bynes's parents would not be attempting to gain a conservatorship over their daughter's assets because they did not want to make things even worse than they already are. It has been more than two weeks since Bynes was basically tricked onto a plane surrounded by people who would eventually deliver her safely to an inpatient psychiatric facility and the former actress is still furious. Well, yesterday her parents decided to protect her assets and did in another conservatorship over Bynes — buying Cartier jewelry for complete strangers did not help matters.
  • Amanda Bynes Psychiatric Hold Has Been Extended as She Is Deemed 'Too Ill' to Care for Herself

Amanda Bynes was almost a free woman yesterday after being held on an involuntary commitment for the last 16 days. Instead of allowing Bynes to leave, her doctors instead secured a 30-day extension to that commitment from a judge familiar with the case. Doctors apparently were able to prove that Bynes is "very ill" and unable to appropriately care for herself in the real world, something that easily led to an extension of her facility stay.
  • After Escorting Amanda Bynes into Treatment Facility, Sam Lufti Insists in Open Letter that He Isn't 'Shady,' Simply Understands Troubled Celebs, Wants to Help

Sam Lufti is a name often affiliated with some of Hollywood's biggest train-wreck situations. He was Britney Spears's right-hand man for awhile before her father stepped in and successfully gained conservatorship over her finances. Lufti has also tried to incorporate himself into the inner circles of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Jackson and Courtney Love when they were struggling to find a lifeline. Lufti has often been referred to as "shady" because those close to targeted celebrities seem to believe he is looking to take financial advantage of those who are struggling mentally. He claims, however, that he simply understands troubled celebs and wants to help them. Lufti's most recent target has been Amanda Bynes, whom he escorted into a treatment facility, and he convinced her to board that flight back to Los Angeles. That ultimately led to her current hospitalization. Lufti decided to finally address the rumors and insinuations in a letter that ran at XOJane.
