Potentially great news for Sex and the City fans, it looks like a third film may really be more than just a distant dream. Last February, SATC producer Michael Patrick King mentioned in an interview that he believed the beloved series had one story left to tell. Carrie Bradshaw herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, agreed with him shortly thereafter and seemed open to the possibility. Jennifer Hudson, who played Louise from St. Louis in the first SATC film, did an interview with Dish Nation the other night and kind of let the cat out of the bag.

She said, "I think it might be [happening]. Somebody just came to me talking about that. So if it's in the talks, it might happen. So look out for your girl Louise from St. Louis."

Some of the initial resistance to doing a third movie seemed to stem from the fact that fans felt the second installment did a disservice to some of the characters and left them wishing the sequel had not been made. Perhaps because the original film delivered on such a great level, anything less was destined to feel like a watered down Carrie and friends, making choices that did not jibe with the way we all remembered them to be.

Obviously, King, Parker and everyone else realizes that in order to pull off a third film, it needs to be on point. Do you hope they give it a whirl? Many fans miss the days of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and, of course, Samantha. The CW gave the original series's prequel The Carrie Diaries a try, but it was met with ambivalence.

Are fans over SATC or do they need the next installment to feel as comfortable as the original HBO series did? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
