Rocker Jack White stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday (Oct. 10) to talk to the host and perform "Alone in My Home" and "Would You Fight for My Love."

"From The White Stripes to his solo work, our next guest is always described with one word...genius," DeGeneres said before White tore into "Would You Fight for My Love," a fine cut from the guitarist's second solo record, Lazaretto. For his encore, White chose the folk-infused "Alone in My Home" from the same album. Check out both performances from the daytime talk show below.

During a brief conversation with DeGeneres, White talked about how he injured his ankle at a recent gig. "Just onstage, I took a little spill," he said in front of a giant picture of his mangled ankle. "It went and bent sideways. Luckily we were near Oakland at the time in San Francisco so we went and saw the Oakland A's physical therapist. He was working on my ankle just to be nice and Coco Crisp [center fielder for the A's] was getting worked on right next to me and he said, 'Yeah, if this was us [referring to White's ankle], you'd be on a 21-day disabled list."

Despite being advised to postpone the tour, White decided to solider on telling DeGeneres that it's too much trouble and a big disappointment for everyone involved. White then talked about his two children, Scarlett and Henry Lee. Check out the interview after the music below.

White is heading to Europe and the U.K. soon to finish out his 2014 touring obligations, but the guitarist recently announced two big shows for 2015. He will be at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., on Jan. 28 before he heads to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Jan. 30. The MSG gig will be his first show at the venue since 2007 when he played with The White Stripes.
