The running couch gag on The Simpsons may be the show's oldest joke, and last night — Sunday, Oct. 12 — the yellow family was graced with music by Cat Stevens, pre-Yusuf Islam.

For about half a minute, Stevens's 1970 tune "Tea for the Tillerman" played over some scenes of Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge and Maggie that seemingly correspond with the lyrics, Billboard noted. It is a pretty pleasant opening scene —that is, until Homer ruins it at the end in true Homer fashion. Check it out below.

The Simpsons kicked off its 26th season Sept. 28 following FXX's 12-day "Every Simpsons Ever" marathon. The network continues to run past episodes five days a week.

Islam is gearing up for the release of his new album Tell 'Em I'm Gone, out Oct. 27. The album will be his third studio effort as Islam since returning to music in the 1990s after a lengthy hiatus. Islam released An Other Cup in 2006 and Roadsinger in 2009. Prior to Cup, Islam's last album was 1978's Back to Earth. Islam's newest single comes in the form of the Edgar Winter cover "Dying to Live."

The artist was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year as Cat Stevens.

"How prepared can you be for something like that to happen?" he told Rolling Stone after hearing the news. "I wasn't very prepared. But since it's happened, it kind of tickled me quite a lot. It's great to know there are people out there who appreciated my work. It's great."

Islam will hit the road Nov. 4 and tour through December.
