One of Euro new rave's last great vestiges, The Klaxons, are calling it quits after nine years of work.
Their 2007 debut Myths of the Near Future hit No. 2 on the UK chart and vaulted them toward stardom (and a Mercury Prize), but subsequent efforts Surfing the Void and Love Frequency were unable to recapture the magic.
The group's demise was made official on Friday (October 24), when they released the following Facebook post: After what's been nearly 9 bananas years we'd like to let you know that we've decided the upcoming dates in the UK and Europe will be our last headline tour [peace and love].
They followed that up with another: After what we announced earlier we would like to comfort we are still looking forward to playing Mexico, Russia and Japan next/this year [love].
