UPDATE: Harry Styles and One Direction have since announced that "Steal My Girl" did not break the VEVO record, according to Twitter.

One Direction's "Steal My Girl" has stolen yet another record for the massive boy band. Today (Oct. 27), it was announced that the lead music video from 1D's FOUR has busted the VEVO record for the most views in 24 hours.

According to 1D member Harry Styles on Twitter, One Direction's fans (commonly called Directioners) broke the most views in 24 hours record following the release of "Steal My Girl" on Friday (Oct. 24).

Styles announced the news to his 22.4 million followers, calling the always-rabid Directioners "legends" in the process.

As of publication time, VEVO has not announced the exact numbers for "Steal My Girl," but the video had to have been viewed over 19.6 million times in one day's time to beat the previous record. Just two months ago, Nicki Minaj's hyper sexy music video for "Anaconda" set the latest VEVO views record with that number.

Previous record holders have also included Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," One Direction's own "Best Song Ever," Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" and Justin Bieber's "Beauty and a Beat."

The music video for "Steal My Girl" takes a comic look at the sets of excessive music videos (ironically making an excessive music video in the process). Featuring It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Danny DeVito as the music video's outlandish director, "Steal My Girl" features the boys of One Direction in all sorts of bizarre set-ups in the desert.

Certain scenes include (but are not limited to): fighting sumo wrestlers, dancing African tribes, ballerinas, chimps, a marching band, paint ball fights and plenty of fake rain, for that added boy band effect.

"Steal My Girl" is the lead single and music video from One Direction's forthcoming album FOUR. FOUR will hit stores on Nov. 17.
