The country Christmas albums just keep coming. The cast of ABC's Nashville will be featured on a holiday disc titled Christmas with Nashville. Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus, who had a cameo last season on the show, is producing the album, Rolling Stone Country reports. The album of standards and originals, out Nov. 4, will feature show favorites like Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere on "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "White Christmas."
"Hayden has such a natural ability. When she opens her mouth, there's a gorgeous tone that comes out," DeMarcus said. "Same thing for Connie. She came in and she was like, 'I'm really not a singer. I'm an actor.' But she went in the studio and just came alive ... They may not say they're singers, but they are."
DeMarcus also had kind words for Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play Maddie and Daphne Conrad and duet on "Christmas Coming Home."
"It comes so naturally for them — it's inbred in their DNA," the producer said about the youngsters. "They are the sweetest girls in the entire world. We had so much fun together working in the studio. They would start singing, and I would just sit there and completely get lost in it."
The show, currently in its third season, debuted in 2012. Nashville pulled in 8.9 million viewers for its series premiere, The Hollywood Reporter notes. The Season 3 premiere only attracted 5.8 million viewers.
