5 Seconds of Summer's star is quickly rising, thanks to a supporting gig on One Direction's Where We Are Tour and a hit album of its own. And now, the punky boy band seems to have really made it, at least in the eyes of its fans. Today (Oct. 28), it was announced that 5SOS will make a long-anticipated appearance on the daytime talk show Ellen.

According to 5SOS' Twitter, the band will appear on Ellen next Wednesday (Nov. 5).

The "Good Girls" band made the Ellen show announcement on its Twitter alongside a (probably) Photoshopped image of the comedienne lounging with the foursome.

The "party" invitation links to the official Ellen website, where 5 Seconds of Summer fans can enter to win tickets to the talk show after writing a 1500 character essay on how the band has affected their life. And according to 5SOS fans on Twitter, its impact has been huge.

The announcement today follows a fan-lead campaign to get 5 Seconds of Summer on Ellen. With a YouTube video and a twitter petition in circulation (with 250 signatures), the 5SOS fandom has exploded on social media today following the show announcement.

Shortly after the band made the Ellen announcement, both #5SOSONELLEN and #EllenPrank5SOS trended on the North American Twitter topics. Fans want to hear the band "scream" and "squeal" with whatever hijinks Ellen DeGeneres may have in store.

5 Seconds of Summer will appear on Ellen on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The band's self-titled debut album is out now.
