Kendrick Lamar made a stop to chat with the folks at Hot 97, and during the radio interview the Compton rapper dished on a variety of things, including his thoughts on Macklemore's text message post after the 2014 Grammys. Just a few months shy of a year later, he said the "Thrift Shop" rhymer's actions were "uncalled for."

While K Dot said that while Macklemore may have been looking to appease his fans, his decision to share the text messages was a bit much:

"Yeah I think it was uncalled for, to be 100 with you. When he sent it to me, I could see him feeling that type of way because he's a good dude. But I think for confirmation from the world, he probably felt like he had to put it out there, which he didn't need to do. But that don't take nothing from him anyway, because I know where his heart is at. He cool."

After the show, Macklemore took to Instagram to share a screenshot of text messages he sent to Lamar.

"You got robbed. I wanted you to win. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appreciate you as an artist and as a friend. Much love," he wrote.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Drake chimed in, saying, "That s--t was wack as f--k."

He went on to elaborate, saying, "I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better — make better music. It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"

K Dot previously spoke out on Mack's apology in an interview for a cover issue of Billboard in March.

"That text surprised me, but Macklemore is a genuine dude," KL said. "However it panned out, I wish him much success. He touched people's souls, and no one can take that away. Really, the whole Grammy moment was incredible. Not everyone gets that shot."
