Mary J. Blige has shared a new track off her forthcoming album The London Sessions, and it's different from her past releases. Titled "When You're Gone," the track features her soulful pipes backed by an acoustic and orchestral arrangement. Grammy-winning songwriter Eg White (Adele, Florence and the Machine) penned the song, and it was his first time working with Blige now that she's exploring British music and experimental sounds.

"When you're gone, I miss you like I did when we were first together. No one in this world could hold me better. Just tell me when you're coming home," she sings. "When you're gone. I'd miss you like you took a piece of me with you. Didn't think I'd care that much, did you? Just tell me when you're coming home."

In a press release, Blige talked about the inspiration behind the album.

"It's all about the London music scene and I'm so excited to have been part of it, to record my album," Blige said. "The songs are fun, therapeutic and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I'm proud of what we have done here."

Last week, Blige released a second music video for her Disclosure collaboration track "Right Now." She's also released a collaboration with Sam Smith called "Nobody But You."

The London Sessions is due out Dec. 2 via Capitol Records and also features collaborations with Emeli Sande, among others. It marks Blige's second release of the year, following the Think Like A Man Too soundtrack.
