For their contribution to the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, synthpop trio CHVRCHES take listeners on a breezy ride with "Dead Air."

As Consequence of Sound points out, the group has been playing the song live for awhile now, using fake titles during shows. It is contemporary pop laced in heavy synthesizers and effects with lyrics that Katniss Everdeen will appreciate.

"This is a call to your arms," vocalist Lauren Mayberry sings — you can listen below. "To take on mind over matter / Replacing fist over fist / We are disappearing."

The whole "We are all just dead air" chorus does not fall in line with the protagonist's never-say-die mentality, but either way, well done, CHVRCHES.

The entire soundtrack, due out Nov. 17, was curated by New Zealand singer Lorde. She recently revealed that Grace Jones, Haim, Chemical Brothers, Miguel and Charli XCX will all appear on the compilation, which will also include a Kanye West remix to her recent track "Yellow Flicker Beat."

"I knew this was right for me as an artist and I felt it would be cool for my career," Lorde told Billboard recently about the project. "People that see me as having a couple of hits and performing on an awards show would see that, between records, I'd committed to a pretty serious body of work."

CHVRCHES released their debut album The Bones of What You Believe last year to mostly positive reviews.

"The Scottish trio's debut LP, The Bones of What You Believe, is a seamless fusion of emotive theatrics, hook-loaded songwriting, and some of the more forward-thinking sonics in electronic music right now," Pitchfork wrote.

The group also contributed "Get Away" to the recent BBC rescoring of 2011's Drive.
