Lorde's latest single "Yellow Flicker Beat" was enlisted for the new trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. The clip follows the stories heroine Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) as she returns to her homeland, District 12, to find it abandoned in ruins. The scenes are dark and bleak, fitting the mood of Lorde's song.

The New Zealand-born singer was brought on to curate the soundtrack to the film. When she released the track last month, she said it was her "attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss'." The song features lyrics such as "They used to shout my name, now they whisper it," a reference to Katniss' rise to becoming the leader of a revolution.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is the first of the two-part finale of the action series, which is set in a dystopian future. The film is due out in theaters Nov. 21.

Lorde contributed a cover of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" for last year's Catching Fire soundtrack, which also included tracks from Coldplay, Of Monsters and Men, and Sia.

The full soundtrack for Mockingjay has not been revealed, though it has been rumored that Charli XCX, Kanye West, Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, Grace Jones, Diplo and The Lumineers have contributed to the film.
